I was finally called by someone from Global (before 4 on a Friday), but only to be informed that I’d only be helped after the weekend. When I protested I was entertained to an over-the-the-top insincere “I’m ever so sorry” and the call was abruptly ended while I was still talking. My return calls went unanswered. I pay my levies on time, which entitle me to gate access in working order and without unreasonable delays in case something goes wrong. (I realise the occasional hiccup is unavoidable — that’s not an issue.) This woman decided that her early weekend was more important than her work responsibilities or basic professional engagement with a paying customer. Training her on basic manners may be warranted. Strangely enough, our caretaker was able to arrange with Global (different person, no doubt) for my gate access to be fixed within 20 minutes after I had contacted him about my experience. The woman I had to deal with was rude, unprofessional and couldn’t get rid of me quickly enough in order to get her early weekend going. I contacted Global afterwards through their website, but based on their reply their employee’s behaviour is not considered problematic.
